Companies are subject to numerous legal obligations, e.g. labour law, IT law and commercial law. IT Compliance means conforming to legal, internal corporate as well as external business guidelines and rules within the entire IT landscape.
On May 25th Hanz Geeratz attended an event that has been organized by the Law Group of Hamburg@work on the topic “IT Compliance: Controlling risks, avoiding liability”. The speakers informed attendees about the problematic nature of IT compliance and provided possible solutions.
One focus of interest was the current handling of IT compliance within small and medium-sized enterprises: Although compliance with legal regulations is considered to be a matter of course, SMEs often do not feel involved in this topic. In addition, some of them have inadequate knowledge of legal frameworks.
