Speicher 210 is using Google Apps as cost-efficient communication platform and particularly recommends small and medium-sized enterprises to change over.
By using the web-based applications, e.g. Google Mail and Calender, your company will be able to cut its IT costs. This is shown by a project that has been completed recently: Speicher 210 supported SUM=, one of the largest independent printmanagement providers in Europe, in migration of 50 users from Exchange Server to Google Applications.
Cost savings because of less software deployment
Google apps resemble applications you may know from Internet portals offering free e-mail service. You gain access to each app by your web browser on your computer, such like Internet Explorer, Mozilla or Safari. Therefore purchase and installation of software is not necessary. Each user receives 25 GB e-mail and IM storage – even large attachements won’t be a problem anymore. Google Mail becomes an individual application: e-mail accounts are created on the domain address of your company, e.g. bertram@yourcompany.com.
Synchronization with Microsoft Outlook® and mobile devices
Businesses can run Microsoft Outlook® on Google Apps. So, if you are already using this interface for e-mails, contacts or as a calender, you can continue it after migration and thus you have access via both interfaces.
You have also access to Google Mail, Calender, Docs and Contacts from mobile devices like Windows Mobile, BlackBerry, iPhone, etc.
On Google Apps benefits you will find more details regarding the benefits when using the applications.
Cost savings because of less hardware deployment
Cutting costs relates not only to software, but also to hardware deployment: By using the web-based applications your company won’t need an exchange server anymore. That means no licenses, no backups, and at the same time you reduce expenses for administration.
